In this episode, Jonathan Hawley, Production Director at Newspring Church Lexington, SC shares 4 tips for producing dynamic worship services for churches in a portable facility. If you do church in a high school, a theater, or other portable facility, Jonathan gives some helpful and practical tips for enhancing your experience.

Here are some key pieces of information from our conversation:

1. Less can be More.
You don’t necessarily have to have all the bells and whistles of a permanent facility. Know what you have to work with and use it as excellent as you can with what you have.

2. Preparation and Communication will set you up for Success.
Volunteers shouldn’t be frustrated when they come in to serve. Over communicate the details of Sunday during the week so they are prepared coming into Sunday.

3. Know your Venue.
Know and understand key measurements and capabilities of your venue.
Know how much power you have available to you.
Know your ceiling height.
Know your stage height and depth.
Know the dimensions of your room.

4. The Devil is Not in the Details.
God cares about the details. The details matter. They are what makes your services and environments excellent. Lean in and focus on the details – they will make a difference when creating your experiences.

If you are at a portable facility, whether a high school, a theater, or other temporary venue, these practices will certainly help your team be more efficient and execute your services at a higher level.
